Katy Perry talks big breasts, losing virginity at 16

Katy Perry dishes to GQ on singing -- for avocados -- during some of her early gigs.

Even God has heard Katy Perry roar.

"I lay on my back one night and looked down at my feet, and I prayed to God," she said in the February issue of GQ. "I said, 'God, will you please let me have boobs so big that I can't see my feet when I'm lying down?'"

The heavens opened up and, by age 11, the "Roar" singer got what she prayed for and a whole lot more.

"I had no clue they would fall into my armpits eventually," she added.

Despite having a stellar physique, Perry, 29, proudly admitted she's "au natural."

"I've never had plastic surgery," she told the mag. "Not a nose, not a chin, not a cheek, not a t-t. So my messages of self-empowerment are truly coming from an au natural product."

Peggy Sirota//GQIn the Love, Sex & Madness edition of GQ, singer Katy Perry gets personal, discussing when she lost her virginity and how she prayed for big breasts as a child.

But that pure product wasn't created overnight. As a young woman growing up, the California girl, who was born Katheryn Hudson, started on her path to fame in the most humble position.

"(At 13) I'd go to the farmer's market in Santa Barbara, and I'd put out my guitar case, and I'd test out little ditty songs that I would write," she recalled.

Even before reaching superstardom, Perry's passion for performing paid off.

"I would get a couple of avocados, a bag of pistachios, and like, fifteen bucks," she said. "That was a lot of money for me."

By 16, the "Dark Horse" singer was in Nashville, where she was set to record her first album, which happened to be gospel rock.

While the album never made noise, Perry created some of her own in the front seat of a Volvo sedan where she lost her virginity with Jeff Buckley's album "Grace" playing in the background.

"Love that record so much," she said.

Fast-forward to six years ago when she released "I Kissed a Girl," which put her on the map.

Now, after a failed marriage to Russell Brand, countless successful hit songs, and her current album "Prism" having sold 771,000 copies and racking up two Grammy nods, Perry has a come a long way from the girl singing for avocados.

In fact, she is now a woman who appears to be completely comfortable in her own skin and happy in her second shot at love with boyfriend John Mayer.

"I'm having a wonderful experience with a wonderful guy," she said of her relationship with Mayer.

But that's not the only male relationship she opened up about to GQ. Perry touched on her rapport with President Barack Obama, which she intends to finesse until they're comfortable enough to talk about aliens, which she believes in.

"I look up into the stars and I imagine: How self-important are we to think that we are the only life-form?" Perry said. "I mean, if my relationship with Obama gets any better, I'm going to ask him that question. It just hasn't been appropriate yet."
