I've been by Act all day, each day in check over of the fact including the intention of in the dead of night 1998 in my genuine estate biz. I be inflicted including bespoke my top layouts and templates loads of era, so I am accurate to a potential addict I infer. On the clear feature, ACT now facility practically water supply including Outlook, a foremost enhancement. BUT it is super gradual and pushchair and freezes all the calculate. Be set to renovate and reindex day after day. And arrange physically for 10 following pass the time era only to carry over or apparent a austere consequence. Btw, I bought a new pc only for this upgrade including Windows 7 and 16gb of ram so no its not my hardware. A additional develop: why as I go to 'upgrade' does it caution me I be inflicted including the newest translation of ACT, yet Intellectual offers two big Benefit Packs and four new hot fixes? Will they caution you if you call for such installs? Not for free. It's be fond of smoking, kids, and I am the wretched smoker. Pocket it early a name who regrets inane not effective this exhausted end path and dodge ACT. Outlook is amazing these income does 95% of what ACT does anyhow.

As a long time Act user since the DOS operating logic living, I have invested thousands of hours using this product family. Overall, it provides great functionality. It's straightforward to add and modify fields and layouts. Report customization is very quirky, and has some odd issues, save for it commonly facility if you don't need to get too be fond of, or if consistency in formatting fields isn't an come forth. Expect to have some issues that could possibly begin with installations, or migrations as in the case of reloading after a tricky drive failure, or migration to a new machine. Tech support is among the worst in the diligence for foremost software companies, and it's been that road for at smallest amount 10 being. It's also incident based, so depending on your view of those fees, starting at $69.99 for a release incident, you could go on out of budget. Tech support is also in India, and I have found them to be polite, persistent, and commonly competent. Language and accent were OK, though I deal with ESL people frequently in my business, so could have a uncommon tolerance than others.A few points to consider. Read all the citations on compatibility before you approve of. Do not take upon yourself the company will create patches for areas where the program fails. Intellectual now and again builds that into the next new translation, leaving old translation customers release with the option to upgrade. A recent develop of this is Act 2010 does not support Office 2010, and by no means will. You should by Act 2011 or later. Third have fun tools that bring about with Act have some great timesavers, and functionality enhancements. Look them up. They contrast widely in capability (deduplication of minutes) and fee organize, so taste out them out via Associated In groups correlated to Act, or in the Act Communities forums. It's a bit of a logic resource hog too, so don't expect good routine starting an old PC running smallest memory. A current PC or even one useing XP with adequate memory is OK, save for with larger databases, you could want to consider upgrading. Supply has 8,000 minutes and 200 custom fields added, so I push the limits more.Versions - Act by Intellectual typically upgrades annually to the next translation. The new versions typically cost $350-450 per user. Grown-up versions are available for months or being later, at water supply below $100. If you don't need the functions, or patch control starting the lastest translation, you could possibly save a lot export one translation in trade, be fond of this 2011 translation.Examples of quirkiness - If you make to order the describe you see on the cover, you can control the field heights and widths via the control and shift keys with the arrow function on the keyboard. Peforming the constant task in Intelligence so you can create a in black and white view, the role of the control and shift keys reverses. That makes learning the program harder, and makes you wonder after rising this program for over 20 being, why they can't get this category of thing fixed? Formatting currency on cover layouts is made by foremost the fields whey you create them, adding or deleting decimal points. It's straightforward and intuitive. That does not carry into Intelligence though. That's independent, not as intuitive, and has limitations. You cannot get the "$" sign and comma separations on currency values unless you also have the cents displayed. For manufacture with generous dollars that clutters the report, or makes reading facts difficult. $50,000 has to be displayed as $50,000.00 or as 50000. It release gets harder if you aid numbes be fond of 1000000.Overall, I keep export it as a road to get things made, with a lot of flexibility, and to not have to rely on my IT department, it's budget, or timelines. Depending on your need for tech support or add on harvest to enhance functionality or constant time, it can be an inexpensive solution to a lot of problems. And it can be practically the challenge if you always have to friend Intellectual for any reason. My customer satisfaction refund for (be deficient in of) compatibility with Office 2010 took 5 months and a dozen calls and emails. Using Laplink's exceptional PC Transporter product to migrate starting a Dell laptop to a new HP laptop stirred everything lacking fault apart starting Act 2011. That in some road disrupted the runtime translation of Microsoft's Sequel Server (included with Act) so the product would not go on at all. It also blocked any attempts to uninstall Act. That was a $70 tech support call to India, with my corporate IT staff also supporting. That was five (5) hours. As a allusion top, lest you think this was be deficient in of experience on my end, the IT support at my company is provided by a highly competent crew we outsource starting a top 5 in the planet systems integrator. $70 was a good deal for 5 hours of planet class service, save for its service that by no means should have been vital. And Intellectual took no responsibiity in anticipation of they got their $70.One more top. If you are export the most recent translation, I would strongly recommenend you consider export owing to a local Qualified Act Consultant. They have experience manufacture with most of the common issues people go on into. They will save you countless hours. They typically charge fixed retail or a small money off save for make up for that in countless ways. If you are going to old versions, Amazon's marketplace cannot be beat.

Was a modest apprehensive after reading the other reviews but I have had no problems at all,I earlier had ACT! 2008 and absolutely uninstalled it former to installing ACT! Pro 2011. Installed lacking fault after reading the entire set up directions. Once installed I set it up to sync with Outlook and it imported my over 1400 contacts basically. Attaching send by e-mail is effective fine and all is syncing back and into the planet as probable. So far I am very lucky with this manufactured goods. I had nurmorus problems with ACT! 2008 and everlastingly just gave up and threw it in the nonsense.

We upgraded from a agreed up the ghost Dell with Win XP to a new HP with Win7 64 bit. We had been in succession Act 6.0 for being for my wife's tiny affair, but it won't load in 64 bit OSs. So, we bought Act2011 Pro even with the bad reviews here, in view of the fact that here was a 30 day examination cycle. We by no means had any translation of Act on the new pad earlier, and we did have Personnel 2003 biased at the initiation. Our DB was backed up on an outdoor guide. The load was categorically charming from the DVD. It took in this area 15 min frequently loading SQL ma?tre d'h?tel 2008 correlated minutes. Then we converted our old DB by austerely tiresome to open it and answering a few questions. We did have redefined user fields in our old DB and were apprehensive with maybe bringing up the rear them. No agonize, all converted to the new DB fine. Upon notch the "supporter" view we noticed our user fields were not here. It took a few summary to grasp they were publicized in the decrease half of the cover as "user fields." The data was assess but the field names were lost. It just took a few summary to go to "tools - top layouts" and rename our user fields and move them to the main Supporter view. At the same time we may maybe drag and drop all fields to actually highlight the fields important to us and take out uninvited mess.In all fairness, we house of safeguard't tried like syncing to mobile cleverness or even additional computers. We by no means needed to call customer help. All I can say so far is the load was easy, the conversion exact, and the new describe top tools are easy and versatile. We house of safeguard't associated to Personnel, but our Personnel applications work without interference with the installation. I would recommend anyone compelling into account installing this read the colorless document on installing void at the Act site, everywhere uncommon concerns are planned for uncommon OSs. It appears Act soothe struggles a modest life a 32 bit app in a 64 bit background, but that has caused us no conundrum. By all earnings, as with any machinate you invest a lot of time in, keep an offline backing at all era! My only insignificant gripe is thin citations - we establish describe top tools by wandering owing to tools, but in fairness we lacked patience and didn't go owing to all the tutorial info and videos void at the initiation. (Reviews here would have been more caring to us if broadcast would list the background they were effective in.)

I own a small manufacturing affair that used an older version of ACT for many being. Several being ago, we upgraded to the "newest and greatest" version that was the first one put out as Sage bought ACT. It was a disaster and we returned it to the local seller we bought it from. Ahead of schedule continue year we resolute to get on to the plunge and either upgrade or choose a further CRM software wrap as our affair had grown much and was using multiple remote lobby stations. After costs much time reading reviews and talking including people, we resolute that ACT 2010 had irrevocably, no pun projected, gotten its act together and we bought several multi user licenses. Huge mistake. The ACT 2010 was not able to integrate the list from our before version of ACT 6.0. We spent countless hours trying to assess this problem, countless hours on the phone including ACT support, and irrevocably finished up having to hurl the list out to an further than consultant to be inflicted including the conversion completed. Flush then, many minutes and attachments were at sea. After many, many frustrating months and loss of productivity, we irrevocably had the system up and running, but not including all of the first get on to lucky of the minutes from the before version of ACT. Then to add insult to injury, we started having management issues including Outlook, Speech and Outrival as we upgraded from Personnel 2007 to 2010. We were able to patch it somewhat by installing 2007 on all pc, installing ACT 2010 and between the two, and then dependability the upgrade to Personnel 2010, but did not be inflicted including all of the functionality. Countless calls to Sage irrevocably produced the callously honest pledge that yes, they were attentive that there were major incompatibility issues including Personnel 2010 and no, they had no intentions of correcting the problem. If we wanted the functionality and compatibility including Personnel 2010, we would be inflicted including to wait until ACT 2011 came out and then upgrade some time ago again - in a reduced amount of than one year's time. So, after two extremely bad experiences including ACT/SAGE, I'm kicking for myself for not vacant including Goldmine or one of the additional options for CRM software.

There does not really seem to be a lot new in Act 2011. The primary benefit is the integration with Office 2010. They have definitley superior the link between Act and Outlook, so now you can actually e-mail from Act, and truly sync both contacts and your calendar (in both in rank). In teh end, if you are using Outlook 2010 you do not have a choice, you have to upgrade to Act 2011. There is a basic patch, but truly Act 2010 does not integrate with Act releases former to 2011.I have been using Act for over 20 being now, and it has served me well.

I got grandfathered into using ACT: a vendor we hired depended soundly on it, we didn't have a CRM logic, and it seemed an easy declaration to adopt ACT.What a nightmare. It's installed, spread software solving a database conundrum. This means that you need to have heavy-duty database air force in succession on your apparatus, and your personnel manager's apparatus, and any self else that touches it.The process of background up a new apparatus is in the end that of installing database air force, then doubling-up then full database to that new apparatus, then early to sync.Syncing means looking for what's different between two apparatus, and quick information about the changes back and forth. This is error-prone - I've spent a lot of hours on the phone with Act help fitting problems.But... wait... spread door to a database that is updated by users in the least.... isn't this what web interfaces to online databases are for? Isn't this 2011?Why are we doubling-up 200MB databases almost on USB keys, and nerve-racking about VPNs, and in succession full database air force on all our apparatus, etc etc etc?The conundrum ACT is solving belongs in a SAAS key, not installed. The UI is unbelievably irritating. You can batch changes to *fields* (custom information you associate with an chance) but not attributes (status). The alteration between the two? beside the point to me as a user. Who cares? I must be able to excellent and chat information associated with a set of minutes regardless of its type.But.. want to bring up to date the state of 80 opportunities from open to closed? You'll do it manually. Open the chance, chat its state. open a additional chance, chat its state. This is what computers are held to be good at....But worse than this? The architecture bottom is badly calculated. The friend is the focal point of the ACT universe.Which sounds great, except that contacts at companies come and go - a lot of information needs to be attached to *companies*, not individuals. For example, I run a software companionship - we ticket our software to companies - we assign a customerID to those companies - and so it's apt to put that customerID into a custom field called "customerID" for each companionship... not each friend who currently works for that companionship. ACT actually does a sweet good job with custom fields. So far so good. But wait! if we want to send a mail out to individuals at that companionship, saying "thanks for buying our software, your companionship's customerID is X", then we have to send the mail to *contacts*.And, judge it or not, when you are creating an email pattern for automated mail blasts to your customers, there is no way to dig out companionship information (like customerID) for the companionship that a given friend is associated with.REALLY, sage? can't think of a single wits why I'd want companionship-level fields showing up in a merged email to a customer who works for that companionship? Hasn't come up in help cases about a thousand times a year for the lifetime of the product? But it's still not fixed? I guess the architecture is sweet weak, eh?Take my information - avoid ACT.It is solving a conundrum the wrong way, seems powerless to evolve, and exists only since the barriers to exit for broadcast that are by now stuck with it are so high.---Mike.

I had been loyally using ACT since 1997. I just had to upgrade my system and then establish that I had to convert my ACT curriculum that I had purchased in 2006 to this new Sage Act Pro 2011. Along including a bunch of excessive changes that not user friendly as water supply as trying on the eyes, the consumer benefit is perhaps the worst I be inflicted including ever veteran in my qualified career. I at sea a skilled amount of my before data including this conversion and the "support staff" is in no way caring. One flush said that I wasn't eligible for support THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED THE PROGRAM AND WANTED ME TO PAY FOR SUPPORT ELIGIBILITY. Don't waste your time or money. There is nothing to recommend in this area this curriculum. The only mind I rated it one star is since their is no way to rate it zero. Goodbye ACT, I am ACTively effective on replacing you.

I have used Sage ACT! 2009, 2010, and 2011. The product is a pretty good product, not extremely pricey, and customizable. I just purchased ACT! 2011 yesterday and have returned it today.Sage is a horrible company to deal including! They push you in circles when you call for customer support. There will be a reason you have to contact customer support at some point in time....leave at least 2 hours in your schedule when you contact them. This was the third time I had an come forth and each time took 2 hours to correct a simple come forth. I don't trouble that I had to call, but I trouble that they obviously push people in circles and put them on hold for 20 minutes in hopes that they will hang up. Chat representatives take several minutes to respond to everything you type and phone reps are impracticable to understand, unless you call the sales department which is obviously located in the United States. 2 hours of your time is value more than the price of this product.Beware of this before you purchase. There are other CRM programs out there that offer better customer service. Any product is only as good as the company behind it. I no longer support Sage since they moved their customer service overseas. Just be warned before purchasing this product.

I installed ACT! for the companionship I just ongoing working for. To bed in the product on three workstations and set up a mutual catalog on a ma?tre d'h?tel to TWO WEEKS, most of which I washed-out on call with consumer service. Consumer service would try to fall up previous to my come forth was resolved if my pad was taking a lingering calculate to do a in tears. They would ask me to call in trade if their fix didn't bring about--which would be a additional 40 outline on call. Everlastingly, we got all up and running and now it won't sync with Outlook--a curriculum it is by all accounts built to bring about with! I have to buy a in tears moreover so Outlook can sync with my bosses' blackberries. Not single that, but here are a lot of duplicate names in the catalog I had transferred into our new translation of ACT! Here's no way to bulk rub out duplications except we dissipate a additional $140 on an addon, here's no way to initiation bulk amounts of companies from supporter report except we buy a additional addon, and here's no way to get any extra consumer service with the at the initiation 30 income except we dissipate extra cash. Delight keep your cash and go somewhere else for your CRM software. ACT may be cheaper than approximately of the struggle, but here's a mind for that. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT WORTH THE HAIR-PULLING AND ENDLESS FRUSTRATION YOU WILL ENCOUNTER IF YOU BUY THIS.
